Spring Boot Basic project configuration error

Hi,

I am evaluating flowable for one of my projects and liked many of it’s features.

I was running it is tomcat/Postgres setup and it was fine.

Now I am trying to package it with Spring Boot So that I can expose app specific Spring web
services which in turn can call the flowable core apis.So I created a simple maven project in Spring and used the Spring Boot Flowable Starter.When I am adding the H2 DB dependencies and running the spring boot application it is giving me following error.Do I need to do some more configuration apart from the pom to make it run ?Help required here !

The pom.xml is this .

Hi,

I think the processes class path folder is missing.
You need a processes folder in your Spring boot app, because this folder is used to look for BPMN XMLs to deploy.

Thanks Tijs,it worked .It can be a good update to the Flowable documentation.Also I am looking
for a way to provide a Datasource to support postgress and Spring documentation suggest multiple ways to provide a bean.Let me know your thoughts if any.Thanks in advance!

Postgres support also worked well.I have another question here .It doesn’t create any default admin user or any user for that matter , to be able to invoke a implemented Spring REST service.
Am I missing something here ?Thanks in advance,

I have also stumbled on a scenario as per my project requirements.Basically ifI have a running process
instance I would want to query it and give me back all process instance variables, tasks , and instance/task
states.

In my case I have one usertask is sandwitched between two service tasks hooked to Java delegates which in
turn calls a web service.Once the first service task completes its execution, it waits in the user task till
somebody flags it for it’s state change.But when I query the process instance I only get the user task details
and none of the two service task details.

So is it a correct assumption that only the user task data state is persisted and none of the service task data
is preserved?It is a make or break requirement for me from the project perspective.Any alternate way to solve
this problem?

And I am planning to call asynchronous web services from the Java delegates and change the task status as a
result from the webservice call backs.Additionally I also want to show the workflow and each task status in an UI.

Any pointers for handling the above is highly appreciated!Also please rectify if any of my assumption is not
correct being a new be in BPMN space.
