Hi team,

We’re evaluating Flowable for a support portal use case that requires IMAP email ingestion. We’ve configured an Email Inbound Channel in Flowable Design on [trial.flowable.com](http://trial.flowable.com/) with the following settings:

- IMAP URL: `imaps://imap.gmail.com:993/INBOX`
- Username/Password: set in the Advanced tab (valid credentials, verified independently via openssl)
- “Mark as read”: True, “Delete messages”: False

A minimal process with an Event Registry Start Event is linked to this channel. The app is published successfully to Flowable Work. However, no process instance is ever triggered when emails arrive in the Gmail inbox. The emails remain unread, suggesting the channel never connects to the mailbox.

We’ve verified independently (via `openssl s_client -connect imap.gmail.com:993`) that the credentials work and the mailbox is accessible.

Question: are Email Inbound Channels with IMAP supported on the Flowable Trial environment, or are outbound connections on port 993 restricted? Is there a specific configuration or activation step we’re missing?

Best rgards,

Sam

Hi @sam-kre8it,

I think they are restricted for the trial environment, you can download though a local Flowable Work with which it should work.

The best place to ask Flowable Trial related questions in the future is [forum.flowable.com](http://forum.flowable.com) which is enterprise specific.

Valentin
